Women in Trucking Celebrates Women Truck Drivers: Conference & Expo 2019

The OTR Capital team attended the Women in Trucking Accelerate! Conference & Expo for the second year in a row in Dallas, Texas. This conference gave us the opportunity to meet up with some of our partners, including KeepTruckin and TA | Petro. OTR is proud to align with the WIT mission to create more gender diversity in the trucking industry. With over 1,100 attendees and 60+ educational sessions there were plenty of openings to network and talk about improvements to support and advocate for women in logistics.

How are things changing for women in trucking?

The conference contained valuable content from the breakout sessions. This ranged from Leadership tracks to Professional Driver focused speakers and panels. The information was relevant to today’s market and hit on several hot topics like automated trucking technology. There were several large players in the logistics field like Amazon and Fedex. The technology tour showcased Kenworth Freightliner and Peterbuilt’s newest truck models. It gave attendees the opportunity to check out the latest in truck driver safety and comfort.

The WIT conference gave us the opportunity to network with industry leaders. WIT hosted round table lunches each day to open discussions with industry-leading men and women to help gain insight into what other companies are focusing on. Exhibitors and sponsors gathered around from all over the country!
